Introduction to the Digital Camera with Carol Ellis

This is a hands on work shop where students will learn to navigate the controls on their digital cameras and discover its incredible capabilities. There are few critical
settings when properly managed will result in better quality images, pleasing color, appropriate exposure, and more importantly, success in obtaining better photos.
Students will practice taking photos in various lighting conditions.
Camera Meets the Mac Computer with Carol Ellis
Wednesday, November 30 or Monday February 13, 1pm- 4pm
Fee: $75 per class
Students will use Iphoto to organize and share images. Transferring the photos by USB cable or card reader (downloading and importing) will be covered. Students will
learn the tools for organizing and enhancing their images, explore size, image quality, practice emailing images, and saving to a CD or external hard drive.

Contemplative Landscapes with George Dewolfe

This workshop is about seeing. People with the basic knowledge of photography and digital capture with simple digital or DSLR cameras should attend. The Contemplative
Landscape it’s taught in places known for their solitude and beauty. Digital cameras are preferred, but any format is acceptable, including those who want to work in large
format and Polaroid materials. Students are encouraged to bring their laptops.

Seeing the Light with Eddie Tapp

Explore seeing the light with photographer and digital imaging specialist Eddie Tapp as he shares tips and techniques to help you learn the intricate qualities of light, how
the digital camera records the light you see and the light you don’t see, along with learning the best practices for image lighting enhancement to give your images a wow
factor using Photoshop or Lightroom. This workshop includes scouting light on location and shooting subjects or scenery, bring your camera equipment. In addition bring 5
JPEG images for a “light review” slide show commentary.
Cyanotype Print Workshop with Shawn Farnsworth
Wednesday & Thursday February 22 & 23, 9am – 4pm

This workshop will teach participants how to make cyanotype prints using basic chemistry in a comfortable environment. Students will acquire a sound knowledge of the
creation of cyanotypes through classroom instruction and hands-on, practical application of the process. Cyanotype is typically printed on watercolor paper, but is versatile
and students are welcome to bring white t-shirts, fabric or other fun material for printing. Students should also bring digital files for the images they wish to print.
Participants desiring to bring traditional film negatives may do so; however, be aware the cyanotype process is a contact printing process the printed image will be the
same size as the negative.
Photoshop Secrets, Techniques and Methods for Advanced Users with Carol Ellis

Big Cypress Swamp Photography Workshop with Jeff Ripple

Get ready to explore some of the most wild and beautiful locations in the Big Cyprus Swamp during this two day photographic experience with award winning photographer
Jeff Ripple. Students should be prepared for dramatic marsh vistas, intimate ponds deep within the cypress, and delicate flowers of native orchids. Jeff’s focus is on
creating magnificent landscape compositions with wide angle lenses, but there will be plenty of opportunities for macro and wildlife subjects too. Beginner through
advanced photography students are welcome, and can bring anything from a point and shoot to an 11X14 field camera. However, students must know how to operate their
camera (turn on/off, focus, adjust exposure) as this workshop focuses on technique, not specific equipment. Jeff will send start times as well locations and a list of potential
motels once you register. Jeff will provide lunch Saturday and Sunday in the field.
The Point and Shoot Club

This photography club’s main focus is fun, friends, and “fotogrpahy”. This is a club which emphasizes how to have fun taking better pictures. The Point and Shoot club is
Low-tech, and friendly to all members with simple digital or film cameras.
This club meets at the Art League on the second Monday of each month at 4pm.
Linda Levy will kickoff the December 12th organizing meeting with a presentation on “Tips for Composing Better Photos”. Other Ocean Reef members have agreed to

Ken White on Animals
At the first meeting, members will decide what activities to include, such as golf cart excursions around the Reef, traveling by car to a special Key Largo vista, or by bus to
Metro Zoo. Join this Club to have fun and snap memorable photos!
