All in one day! Superblue Immersive and Experiential Art & the Rubell Family Collection
Friday, January 19
Motor Coach Departs the Art League at 9:30am
World-class, unforgettable, and only in Miami!
With a mission to amplify artist voices, Superblue and their partners use their deep knowledge of art, audiences, and social change to make a true and lasting impact on how people see and understand the world. Bringing together the world’s most innovative artists who are constantly pushing boundaries, Superblue gives artists the space to create large scale immersive art instillations to be experienced by many. One interactive exhibit called “Pulse Topology,” by the Mexican Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, projects your heartbeat through a stream of light from 3,000 light bulbs! WOW!
After, we will venture directly across the street to the Rubell Museum. Before exploring Rubell, we will enjoy lunch at Leku, conveniently located inside the Rubell Museum. The Rubell Museum boasts the incredibly diverse collection of art acquired by the Rubell Family. In 1993 the family took their passion for art and made it their mission with the opening of the Rubell Family Collection/Contemporary Art Foundation, open to the public. Since that first acquisition in 1965 they’ve built one of the most significant and far-ranging collections of contemporary art in the world, now encompassing 7,400 works by more than 1,000 artists—and still growing!
